Executives and corporate works council members from 13 countries met in Berlin for an exchange of ideas.

“Open Minds for a New Bertelsmann” – this was the theme of the Bertelsmann Diversity Conference 2016, which demonstrated why diversity brings not only social but also economic benefits, and how it is already being implemented across the company’s divisions. Around 110 participants accepted the invitation for two days at the Bertelsmann corporate representation in Berlin, including executives and corporate works council members from 13 countries, as well as external keynote speakers.

Within division-specific groups, the participants discussed the current situation in their business area, identified areas in need of action, and developed concrete, division-specific measures to increase workforce diversity.

Green Event

Before and after the event, the CO₂ emissions generated by the “Bertelsmann Diversity Conference 2016” were measured. They are being offset through support for environmental projects in Brazil, India, and China – Bertelsmann’s growth regions.
